Today we headed south. We were excited to find Playa Buye, a lovely beach in the Cabo Rojo area. We had tried to find this beach on one of our visits but couldn’t find the road its on. Now having lived here for a while, we no longer expect to see road signage (though sometimes they ARE there) but rather turn where it seems to make sense. Wouldn’t you know it, this time we found the beach and indeed it is quite lovely.
By now, we have a good amount of beach stuff we drag along with us but most locals put us to shame with their typical beach set-up:
- A hammock
- A very large cooler (on wheels preferably)
- A table
- A bunch of chairs
- A grill
- Lots of food and drink
- A boom box!
We had a pleasant time at the beach, played some frisbee and smashball (i.e., matkot) and now feel refreshed and ready to face another week of contractors, satellite installations, accessory shopping and furniture (re)delivery (more on that in another post).
