Yesterday was yet another day of shopping:

  • Home Depot to buy me my own machete and weed wacker (strimmer) and full face guards for both of us, in addition to random other gardening tools.
  • Visited a few more furniture stores to search for a coffee table (no luck)
  • Bought our first house plant
  • Sams Club for beer, frozen goods, organic carrots and hummus…

One interesting aspect of life in PR is the very developed culture of road side commerce.  Here are a few things you can buy at the side of the road:

  • Bottles of water*
  • Snacks (nougat and nuts)*
  • Bananas*
  • Fruit and vegetables
  • Cakes
  • Tv antennas
  • Food (PR is famous for its roadside food stands)
  • Lottery tickets
  • Hammocks
  • Beach towels
  • Hats
  • Shoes
  • Karaoke DVDs
  • Clothing
