Today, I got to go out and play golf for the first time since arriving, in fact probably for the first time in about 2 years! Jeff, another local ex-pat whom we met at Ron’s art opening party in San Juan, is a keen golfer and he suggested I join him for a round. The golf course in Aguadilla (about 30 mins from home) is in a beautiful setting, right next to the ocean. The course suffers due to the climate (fairways and greens tend to be rock hard and grass coverage isn’t always even), but on the whole, for a $20-a-round public course, its pretty nice. They have some amazing palm trees dotted around.
Needless to say, after 2 years of golflessness, my game was less than stellar but the vistas were great, as was the company.
“Sure beats working” Jeff commented. I could only agree.
