Our banana tree is now bare. Hands have been given to our neighbors on both sides, our realtor, the pump truck operator (who had given me a CD of his family’s folk music band) and, of course, we’ve been eating our share. As feared, the bananas are ripening faster than we can eat them. However, leaving them on the ‘tree’ is not an option: As soon as they yellow they start cracking and then critters tuck in. So, as of yesterday we have quite a pile of bananas!
I see banana bread in our near future!
