Life in a construction zone can be stressful at times.  But fortunately, there are constant happy reminders of why it is that we decided to call this beautiful island home.  Like this evening, when Nick and I were stood on our front balcony, surveying this day’s work and enjoying a cold one (me: agua, Nick: cerveza).  As neighbors drove by, they gave the customary waves.  We’re now used to this.  Then, our neighbor from up the hill (Raquel, he’s the guy raising those cute piglets, which are now HUGE) whom we’ve never officially met, drove by.  He practically hung out the window to wave, a massive smile on his face and shouted out “Yo!”.

Yes, its the little things, but boy do they matter.
