Yesterday I stopped by the eco-friendly farmer’s market in the plaza of Rincón. Parking close to town was an adventure, as police were blocking many of the access roads, in preparation for several political rallies. You can really tell that the election is only a day away!
This is the second time the market was held. The plan is to have a market every first and third Sunday of every month from 8am – 1pm in the plaza of Rincón. On offer are local produce and artisanal foods (breads, jams, oils). I picked up a couple of potted herbs (tarragon and orange-mint), a few cakes for our ocean-front lunchtime picnic with Petchie and O, some lovely cards hand-made by Magha and sampled a few refreshing cold teas while chatting with vendors and local friends. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning!
