It hasn’t been raining that much this week but the previous week’s rains have turned everything an amazing shade of green. So pretty! My blog-buds all seem to be sharing videos of their daily life so I decided to take the camera along the other day as I walked down the hill to collect mangoes. As you’ll hear, there really is no need for a sound track in Puerto Rico… ๐Ÿ™‚ You will first see our massive King Palm then I start walking towards our large mango tree (with our neighbors trees up on the opposite hill and our large Avocado tree to the right), and get a glimpse at our lovely terraces (nicely mowed/weed whacked by Nick the previous week). As Nick would say, “Fascinating…”. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Walking down a fairly steep hill (in crocs) while taking a video (and turning around to show the house and our Mango and Avocado trees behind the house) means that I can’t do what I normally don’t do anyways (to Nick’s great chagrin) which is watch where I’m going. The video therefore comes to an abrupt end when I trip slightly. No worries, plenty of stills follow to fill you in on key happenings on our land (with lots of CAPS needed:

  • The Avocado tree down the hill is EXPLODING with fruit (one arms-reach limb had over 25 fruit on it!)
  • We picked an arm of BIG plantainsย
  • Nick’s banana/plantain alley is looking might fine (this picture also affords a view of our Mango, Coconut, Avocado, Papaya, Sour Orange (Naranja) and Breadfruit trees up the hill by the house)

You might not be able to see them, but there are over 25 little avocados in this picture!

Machete action

Not a bad bunch of platanos!

Nick’s Banana Alley (if you look up the hill, you’ll spot a coconut tree with our pina mango on its left and our young avocado on its right. Bonus points if you find the fruiting Papaya!)
